MADISON SQUARE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB HOSTS 7TH ANNUAL YOUTH OF THE YEAR DINNER

NEW YORK, NY (May 28, 2019) – Madison Square Boys & Girls Club hosted its Seventh Annual Youth of the Year Dinner at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers last Wednesday evening. More than 450 guests celebrated the success of four Madison Clubhouse youth who have demonstrated a consistent dedication to their education and community. Raising more than $1.06M for the organization, support from this event provides life-changing programs to young people just like the ones that our four Youth of the Year participated in. Youth of the Year is the premier national recognition program for Boys & Girls Club members.

The Youth of the Year program promotes service to the Club, community and family, academic success, strong moral character, and life goals. The four young people recognized exemplify all these traits. They have utilized their respective Clubhouses as an invaluable resource to set them on a positive path for the future.

The Starr Foundation and Maurice R. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc., were honored as the Champion of Youth Honoree for their dedicated service to the philanthropic landscape and support of Madison. Poppy Harlow, CNN Anchor and host of the CNN Podcast “Boss Files with Poppy Harlow”, served as our Mistress of Ceremonies. The evening's guests-of-honor included Madison’s four Youth of the Year: Sarahfina Cunningham, Linda Warrington, Edith Valerio and Perla Flores.
