Madison Clubs Extend Hours of Operation

All Madison Square Boys & Girls Clubhouses are now open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and have extended their weekday hours to 9 p.m.

"This is a goal we've been working toward for a long time now," said Madison's Executive Director Joseph Patuleia. "It's based on a really simple formula: the more contact we have with our young people, the greater impact we can have on their lives."

This major milestone was achieved thanks to The Pinkerton Foundation, a long time supporter of Madison. In 2006, in addition to a generous grant, the foundation instituted The Pinkerton Challenge, promising an extra $100,000 to support extended Clubhouse hours if Madison could increase its total annual fund donations by $200,000. The challenge paid off, thanks to several of our supporters - namely, the Altman Foundation, Doris Buffet, the Clark Foundation, and the American Express Foundation. Now lazy Saturdays and weeknights in front of the television are a thing of the past for our Madison youth.

"I can't think of a better way to expand the reach and the impact of Madison than by just being there for our kids more often," says Patuleia. "We're not just giving them a building or a program. Now they can count on their home away from home even more than before."
