Meet the Executive Team

Elaine Rocha, Executive Director

"To lead Madison, an organization that has served as a bedrock of opportunity for NYC youth since 1884, is the honor of my professional life. My own journey is a testament to the power of access, opportunity, and mentorship, and I believe deeply in Madison’s ability to unlock potential. With our new Madison 2.0 vision, we will not only build on this historic legacy but also chart bold, new pathways to ensure every young person has the equity and access they need to define their own future."

Elaine Rocha joined Madison in August 2025 and became Chief Executive Officer on September 30, 2025. A proven leader with a distinguished career as a lawyer, corporate executive, and community advocate, she is the first woman to serve as Madison’s CEO since its founding in 1884.

Her journey—from earning scholarships to The College of New Jersey and Seton Hall University School of Law to holding senior leadership roles at AIG—reflects her belief in the power of opportunity. Throughout her career, Elaine has championed equity and access, drawing on her own experiences to create pathways for others.

At Madison, Elaine is committed to advancing “Madison 2.0,” a vision that builds on the organization’s historic legacy while charting new ways to expand opportunities, deepen programs, and empower the next generation of NYC youth.
